Helping you get back to your day-to-day routine.
Occupational Therapy addresses activities of daily living such as self feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting as well as higher level instrumental activities of daily living to include safety with home management, room management (for ALF patients), and medication management.
Occupational Therapy is an integral part of the rehabilitation process with emphasis on upper body range of motion and strengthening, visual perceptual training and standing balance necessary to resume safe prior level of performance for self care tasks.
Occupational Therapy performs home assessments for patients ready to discharge from rehab to ensure readiness for discharge. Home assessments will address changes in ADL's and the use of assistive devices in the home. Family and patient may conclude that the patient may not be able to perform activities and recommendations for additional adaptive or assistive equipment to maximize safe performance will be made. Specialty certifications include Lymphedema and Saebo devices. Occupational Therapy services are available at NHC HealthCare, Mauldin as inpatient and outpatient.
